So on my birthday, just before the 12oclock hit, the most horrible, dramatic, traumatizing(?) thing happened. We all went on a nasho run (Me, Linda, Anita, Kim, Steven, Clement, Alan, Paul, Justin, Steven), and justin was driving my car. The turns were pretty sharp and justin was driving it pretty fast. Unfortunately, at one turn, the car's steering went wrong and the brakes didn't work. The car slid off the road and down the cliff. Luckily for us, the car only went downhill a bit, and stopped just before hitting the tree. Luckily (thank god), none of us got injured so it was fine. The thing was, the car was now stuck. The others stopped for us while we checked out the car. Everything was okay except the front right tyre which popped. It was very impromptu, but we dug a holy and wedged a rock underneath in order to shove a jack in. Fortunautely after a bit of time, we were able to jack the car up to take off the popped wheel. There was a spare tyre in the back of my car so we were able to replace the wheel immediately. We tried reversing the car back up the hill onto the pavement. After a lot of pushing, revving and placing sticks and stones under tyres, the car only managed to move up a little. Unfortunately we weren't able to take it out. It was also sprinkling at the time, and really thankfully, it didn't rain. Some cars drove by, some stopped to ask if everything was okay, while some just kept driving. It was more unfortunate, since the place we crashed at had no reception at all. We ended up resorting to patrick along with clement and linda, driving back out in order to find/buy a rope somewhere, or calling up nrma and getting a tow truck to tow the car out. We basically waited in the middle of the forest, all dark for a solid 3 hours not knowing where they are or went since we couldn't contact them. We talked, watched stuff and listened to music to kill time, but overall, it was a long 3 hour wait. At 2 oclock, Steven, kim and paul decided to drive off to find reception to give them a call. They came back half an hour later to inform that the toll truck is on the way and it wouldn't be till another 20 mins. And so, the wait was longer, except it wasn't 20 mins as informed. They never came till like 3-3:30. The truck tolled the car out, and unluckily, it costed $210. Justin paid for the truck since he felt responsible for being the driver, but i kinda felt bad for him. :/ On the bright side of all this, we were all really lucky to not have died today, nor get the car damaged. The car was fully functional and only has dirt on it. Other than that, only the wheels need maintenance, and it'll be perfectly normal just like before. We all went back and stopped by at maccas to eat. The others found out it was my birthday as well, which made it all more wtf. haha. After more driving, i finally got home at 5:30 to take a lovely shower.
I'd like to thank God for all of us not dying today. It was very lucky on our behalf, and we've all experienced one hectic and life changing night. Time for me to sleep, g'nights.
Aftermath photo at maccas. Shirts all worn out and dirty.
One really wild and hectic night.
